
Robert Davis
Gaining 1,016 yards in 1975, Robert Davis became the first player to ever rush for more than 1,000 yards while wearing a Missouri Southern uniform. Davis earned All-District laurels for the Lions in 1974 and 1975, and was an honorable mention NAIA All-American selection following his record-setting year in 1975. Davis finished his career with 1,945 yards rushing and 22 rushing touchdowns, numbers which ranked seventh and fifth, respectively at the time of his induction, on the Missouri Southern career charts. A 1977 graduate of Missouri Southern with an associate’s degree in law enforcement and a bachelor’s degree in general studies, he earned his master’s degree in divinity from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Mo.
At the time of his induction, Davis had recently retired from the United State Navy where he served as a chaplain from 1985 to 1999.
