Tony Logan
Tony Logan is being inducted as much for his contributions since graduating as he is for his performance on the hardwood. A resident of Joplin, Mo., Logan played only one season at Southern, 1970-71, when he helped Southern to a runner-up finish in the NAIA District 16 Tournament. A senior guard on that team (he came to Southern after two years in the Navy and another two years at Southwest Baptist University), he averaged 10 points and 2.7 rebounds per game while hitting 45 percent of his shots from the floor and 72 percent from the free throw line. He served as junior varsity coach in 1971-72, and graduated in May of 1972. Since graduating, Logan has remained a loyal supporter and Missouri Southern Lionbacker Booster Club member. He can be seen at all Missouri Southern Lions' home basketball games sitting court side in a striped official’s shirt in his role as official scorer. He has served as the Lions' official scorer since the 1979-80 season.
